Ymgysylltu = v. to conjoin one's self; to connect mutually

- Method in class java.net.URLConnection
public abstract void connect () throws IOException
Opens a communications link to the resource referenced by this URL, if such a connection has not already been established. If the connect method is called when the connection has already been opened (indicated by the connected field having the value true), the call is ignored. URLConnection objects go through two phases: first they are created, then they are connected. After being created, and before being connected, various options can be specified (e.g., doInput and UseCaches). After connecting, it is an error to try to set them. Operations that depend on being connected, like getContentLength, will implicitly perform the connection, if necessary.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs while opening the connection.See Also:  connected - Method in class java.net.DatagramSocket
public void connect (InetAddress  address, int port)
Connects the socket to a remote address for this socket. When a socket is connected to a remote address, packets may only be sent to or received from that address. By default a datagram socket is not connected. A caller's permission to send and receive datagrams to a given host and port are checked at connect time. When a socket is connected, receive and send on incoming and outgoing packets, other than matching the packet's and the socket's address and port. On a send operation, if the packet's address is set and the packet's address and the socket's address do not match, an IllegalArgumentException will be thrown. A socket connected to a multicast address may only be used to send packets.Parameters: address - the remote address for the socket - the remote port for the socket.port - the remote port for the socket.Throws: IllegalArgumentException - if the address is invalid or the port is out of range. - if the caller is not allowed to send datagrams to and receive datagrams from the address and port.SecurityException - if the caller is not allowed to send datagrams to and receive datagrams from the address and port.See Also:  disconnect() , send(java.net.DatagramPacket) , receive(java.net.DatagramPacket) - Method in class java.net.SocketImpl
protected abstract void connect (InetAddress  address, int port) throws IOException
Connects this socket to the specified port number on the specified host.Parameters: address - the IP address of the remote host. - the port number.port - the port number.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs when attempting a connection. - Method in class org.omg.CORBA.ORB
public void connect (Object  obj)
Connects the given servant object (a Java object that is an instance of the server implementation class) to the ORB. The servant class must extend the ImplBase class corresponding to the interface that is supported by the server. The servant must thus be a CORBA object reference, and inherit from org.omg.CORBA.Object. Servants created by the user can start receiving remote invocations after the method connect has been called. A servant may also be automatically and implicitly connected to the ORB if it is passed as an IDL parameter in an IDL method invocation on a non-local object, that is, if the servant object has to be marshalled and sent outside of the process address space. Calling the method connect has no effect when the servant object is already connected to the ORB. Deprecated by the OMG in favor of the Portable Object Adapter APIs.Parameters: obj - the servant object reference - Method in class java.io.PipedOutputStream
public void connect (PipedInputStream  snk) throws IOException
Connects this piped output stream to a receiver. If this object is already connected to some other piped input stream, an IOException is thrown. If snk is an unconnected piped input stream and src is an unconnected piped output stream, they may be connected by either the call: or the call: The two calls have the same effect.Parameters: snk - the piped input stream to connect to.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs. - Method in class java.io.PipedInputStream
public void connect (PipedOutputStream  src) throws IOException
Causes this piped input stream to be connected to the piped output stream src. If this object is already connected to some other piped output stream, an IOException is thrown. If src is an unconnected piped output stream and snk is an unconnected piped input stream, they may be connected by either the call: or the call: The two calls have the same effect.Parameters: src - The piped output stream to connect to.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs. - Method in class java.io.PipedWriter
public void connect (PipedReader  snk) throws IOException
Connects this piped writer to a receiver. If this object is already connected to some other piped reader, an IOException is thrown. If snk is an unconnected piped reader and src is an unconnected piped writer, they may be connected by either the call: or the call: The two calls have the same effect.Parameters: snk - the piped reader to connect to.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs. - Method in class java.io.PipedReader
public void connect (PipedWriter  src) throws IOException
Causes this piped reader to be connected to the piped writer src. If this object is already connected to some other piped writer, an IOException is thrown. If src is an unconnected piped writer and snk is an unconnected piped reader, they may be connected by either the call: or the call: The two calls have the same effect.Parameters: src - The piped writer to connect to.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs. - Method in interface java.sql.Driver
public Connection connect (String  url, Properties  info) throws SQLException
Attempts to make a database connection to the given URL. The driver should return "null" if it realizes it is the wrong kind of driver to connect to the given URL. This will be common, as when the JDBC driver manager is asked to connect to a given URL it passes the URL to each loaded driver in turn. The driver should raise a SQLException if it is the right driver to connect to the given URL, but has trouble connecting to the database. The java.util.Properties argument can be used to passed arbitrary string tag/value pairs as connection arguments. Normally at least "user" and "password" properties should be included in the Properties.Parameters: url - the URL of the database to which to connect - a list of arbitrary string tag/value pairs as connection arguments. Normally at least a "user" and "password" property should be included.info - a list of arbitrary string tag/value pairs as connection arguments. Normally at least a "user" and "password" property should be included.Returns: a Connection object that represents a connection to the URLThrows: SQLException - if a database access error occurs - Method in class java.net.SocketImpl
protected abstract void connect (String  host, int port) throws IOException
Connects this socket to the specified port on the named host.Parameters: host - the name of the remote host. - the port number.port - the port number.Throws: IOException - if an I/O error occurs when connecting to the remote host.
